Christian Seidel
Christian Seidel is Full Professor for “Manufacturing Technologies and Additive
Manufacturing” (since 2019), Head of Smart Manufacturing Lab (since 2021), and
member of PhD Center “Materials and Production Technology” at Munich University of Applied Science.
Furthermore, he is
Head of Additive Manufacturing (AM) (since 2018) at
Fraunhofer Institute for
Casting, Composite and Processing Technology IGCV. Prof. Seidel is known for his expertise in the field of additive manufacturing,
also known as 3D printing.
From Jan. 2019 to March 2023, he was Chairman of the
world's leading standards committee, ISO Technical Committee 261 "Additive
Manufacturing", of which he was a member from 2012 to 2023.
From April 2016 to
Feb. 2022, he was Chairman of the VDI committee "Environmental, Health and
Safety Issues in Additive Manufacturing".
Between 2018 and 2023, he has received
five awards from national and international organizations for his achievements
in the field of additive manufacturing. Since 2020, he has been Member-at-Large
of ASTM Executive Committee F42 on Additive Manufacturing.
